Maude Brundish was born at the Black Swan in Jolly Butchers Yard in 1893. she married John Evelyn Aspland in 1915 and had 6 children, 5 daughters and 1 son. This is the story of Maude as told by her only remaining daughter Joyce.

Although by todays standards life in the Yards of Norwich was hard, Maude was very content with her life and lived to be 93.
