Corporate members were welcomed to the Guildhall by the Sheriff of Norwich Nick Williams, followed by Jeremy Taylor, the Chairman of the Norwich Society, explaining the current work of the Society. Blue Badge Guide Rod Spokes, gave an inspiring narrative of the cultural background and history of the building.
As well as the Council Chamber and Court Rooms, the tour of the Guildhall included the old prison cells and the medieval crypt before returning to an excellent breakfast and opportunity to network.
More than 20 organisations were represented all of whom were enthustiastic over the format of combining a visit to an historic building with an opportunity to interact with like minded people interested in the well-being of the City.
After the success of this event the Norwich Society will repeat this format at another historic venue which highlights the rich heritage of the City. Details will be found via the next event tab.
